We are happy to announce that the projest of our doctoral student, Mohit Phulara, titled „Contemporary environmental changes recorded in the annual increments of shrubs from the Indian Himalayas: a dendroecological approach” has been awarded under the Bekker NAWA program for the session 2023-2024. As a result of this achievement, Mohit Phulara will be continuing his research work at the esteemed Swiss Federal Institute for Forest, Snow and Landscape Research (WSL) in Switzerland.
The research focuses on the growth patterns, wood structure and responses of high-altitude shrub species in the Himalayan ecotone and aims to understand how they adapt to changing climatic conditions in sensitive regions of the Himalayas, with a particular focus on recent environmental changes.
